New Owners

Barry's Bay Cottage Resort is being operated more as a retreat than a resort by new owners who love to visit and explore the area. The same group owns and operates one of Algonquin Park's best known outfitters, Algonquin Bound; and is part owners of Canada's top selling outdoor guidebook series the Backroad Mapbooks. Needless to say, when you come to Barry's Bay Cottage Resort, you are in good hands.

If you have any questions about us or the resort, please feel free to contact us by

History

Originally run as Carson Lake Cottage Resort Villa, we have been serving visitors to the Barry's Bay area for over 15 years. From 2008 through 2011, the entire resort has undergone an extensive renovation to enhance the classic cottage look and feel with a few more modern conveniences and a touch of class. Our goal is to blend the rustic elegance of the outdoors with a few luxuries to make you feel like you have stepped into another world.

The cottages are strategically located near the quaint cottage town of Barry's Bay just outside of Algonquin Park. Our close proximity to the town allows you to experience the outdoors, while being able to visit a bustling little cottage town with arts and crafts stores and all the necessary amenities.

For the outdoor enthusiast, there are few places in the country that can rival the variety and beauty of the Madawaska Valley. From fall colours to canoe routes and great fishing, the area is very popular during the spring, summer and fall months with cottagers, and vacationers alike. Winter enthusiasts can partake in downhill skiing, endless snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing or simply relax in the new hot tubs that rest on the decks overlooking the gorgeous lake. No matter what season you come, the surrounding woodlands, rivers and lakes are alive with a wide variety of wildlife to look for.

Barry's Bay Cottage Resort will captivate your imagination. Each cottage is like stepping into your own private retreat, while the resort facilities offer the tools to enjoy this recreational playground. Come experience the call of nature at Barry's Bay Cottage Resort.

Testimonials

“We really enjoyed your new Cottage Resort. The retrofit to the cabins was done very tastefully and they offer just what we needed. I loved that each cottage was very private. We used the trampoline, paddle boat and row boat, and my granddaughter caught 5 fish. She's 3 so this was a very exciting event.”
Maureen Way–General Manager STONE GATE INN

"The water was great – no seaweed, trampoline was a definite highlight. Moose lodge, great for our gatherings esp. in the rain. We had movie night, bingo night, talent show etc… Cottages were very clean and nice to have linens, towels and blankets. Hot tubs were a bonus. Use of canoes, kayaks, life jackets was a welcome addition. One of us brought up their jet ski and we were out every day possible. He said the lake was perfect, no weeds and like glass. I loved that everyone had their own private area and dock for family time."
